The different types of aluminum alloy rods
Aluminum alloys are divided into different grades according to their chemical composition. The main types of aluminum alloy are:
1) Wrought aluminum alloys: These alloys are made by processing aluminum ingots or billets in various ways, such as rolling, extrusion, or drawing. They can be further classified into cast alloys and wrought alloys.
2) Cast aluminum alloys: These alloys are made by pouring molten aluminum into molds. They can be further classified into die-cast alloys and sand-cast alloys.
3) Aluminum-based composite materials: These materials are made by combining aluminum with other materials, such as carbon fiber or glass fiber. They offer superior strength and stiffness compared to pure aluminum.
4) Aluminum foams: These materials are made by adding gas bubbles to molten aluminum. They have a porous structure and are often used as thermal insulation or sound absorption materials.
